My partner and I went to Nashville for our honeymoon (2014?), and we’ve wanted to go back ever since. So we took our daughter this year.
For my birthday, the girls bought me a day in a studio there. I chose Gnome Studio A because it seemed to have the vibe I was looking for. I wasn’t wrong. My engineer, Tyler and his assistant, Sage, were totally gents and were a pleasure to spend the day with. Sage even went out to buy felt to put in the upright piano, and batteries for the eBow that we used to create a big chord from single acoustic guitar drones.
I worked on a song I wrote years ago that I’ve been thinking of putting together with some other singer-songwriter type songs under my long dormant pseudonym emphemetry.
So I guess a new emphemetry album is underway as of now.
We didn’t finish the song, but we tracked so many ideas that it’s not going to take much to finish in the mix.
Here are some photos. I wish I’d taken more, but I was too much in my happy place making sounds and experimenting with music. I could’ve spent a week there with Tyler and Sage.
